Week 85: I was born in Chelmsford, and I'll die in Chelmsford!‏

February 16, 2016

Transfers are this week, and I'm headed back to Chelmsford! I started
my mission in the Maldon ward, where I basically stayed and worked in
the city of Chelmsford, so this will be awesome! The Chelmsford and
Maldon wards also share a chapel, so I'll probably get to meet some of
the members, investigators, and recent converts I worked with before!
I'm so excited!!! My new companion is Elder Jackson - my 12th
companion! We'll be white-washing the area together, which means that
both missionaries in Chelmsford are leaving the area and that both
Elder Jackson and I will move into the area - we're excited to take on
this challenge!

C passed her baptismal interview this week!! Her original baptismal
date was for February 13th, but we've rescheduled her date for
February 27th. Unfortunately, that means I won't be there to baptize
her as we'd planned, but I'm still just so happy for her! J, C's
mother, is also starting to progress towards baptism! J had a concern
that she was already baptized in the Greek Orthodox church and that
she would mock God if she was baptized again, but when we taught her
the Restoration on Sunday, her concern was resolved! We're excited to
see her and C again soon!

K has been doing really well too. We keep running into him in town
center, and every time we do, he lets us know how excited he is to be
baptized! He's going around telling his family and friends that he's
going to get baptized, so that's been awesome to hear! Because we've
been hearing that, we really really want to sit down and teach him
again so we can set a specific baptismal date for him to work towards,
but our appointments with him keep falling through. We're finally
teaching him again today, and we'll invite him to be baptized on March
26th.

One small miracle from this week was when I lost and found my name
badge. We were preparing to leave the flat again after eating lunch,
and I realized that I couldn't find my name badge. We searched the
flat and quickly retraced our steps through town center, but we
couldn't find it anywhere. I luckily had an extra name badge and was
able to use it for that day, but I just couldn't get over that I'd
lost my badge. Throughout the day, the question came to mind, "Am I
living worthy to wear that badge on my chest?" This made me think of
changes that I could make to become a better missionary, and I
committed to make those changes. When we were sitting down to plan our
next day, I found my name badge in an obscure coat pocket that I
didn't realize existed. Mini miracle and a lesson learned!

One final note: I got my UK License in the mail this week! Awesome!!

Hope everybody has a great week!

Funnies of the Week

You know you're a missionary when you have nightmares about breaking
mission rules by teaching people in your flat.
