Christmas was amazing!! We had
our regular study schedule in the
morning, went to a small unofficial caroling service put on by some
members. They sang some Christmas carols and read about the Savior's
("Saviour" in the UK) birth from the scriptures, including the Book of
Mormon, and talked with each other afterwards. We went with some of
the Godivalla family afterwards to carol to M, one of the Sister's
investigators (the golden one). After that, we took our gifts to the
Godivalla's home, and we opened presents with them there! So many of
the members gave us gifts, they're all so nice!!! The Godivallas made
us an AMAZING Christmas lunch, we listened to the Queen's Speech
together (she's the head of the Church of England, so she speaks about
Christmas each year), and then we got to Skype our families! IT WAS SO
MUCH FUN!!! Once we finished talking with our families, we played some
games with the Godivalla family, and then we went over to the Jest's
home. We arrived just as they were finishing Skyping their daughter
who's serving a mission in Europe, and then we sat down to watch a
movie with them: "Inside Out"! After that, we played the card game
Pit, and then we got a ride with them back to our flat. Such a fun
day!!!
We've had such a great week as well! We had a miracle with C, our
investigator, when we bumped into her next to our flat. We talked with
her about coming to Church on Sunday, and she accepted! Her mother,
who was there with her, sounds interested in meeting too! She seemed
to have a great time at church, and lots of the members went up and
talked with her as well! We're really excited for her!!
We had another miracle happen this week when we went on an exchange
with the zone leaders. I went with Elder Tonks to his area in Watford,
and we spent most of our time trying to contact some part-member
families. We decided that in order to make our time more effective, we
would tract around the homes of these families we were trying to
contact. Because we did this, we found E, a single mother with two
children. We showed her the "A Savior Is Born" video, and she really
enjoyed it. She was so prepared to listen to everything that we
shared, and she even told us that her young son was interested in
learning more about God, so she agreed to meet later this week! When
we invited her to be baptized if she found out our message is true,
she accepted! She is soo prepared!!
One final highlight from the week was yesterday when we had a lesson
with one of the member's friends, E. She's been meeting with the
missionaries in Germany, but she wanted to keep learning while she's
at home in the UK, so we've started teaching her. She is SUPER
prepared, but has been going through some struggles. We had a lesson
plan already prepared for her, but we decided that we needed to do
something else to address her needs better. After we got talking to
her, we saw what direction we needed to take, the Spirit was there,
and we were able to give her a General Conference talk to meet her
needs. She was so happy that we gave her that talk - I'm so grateful
we followed that prompting!
Hope everybody had a very Merry Christmas, and hope everyone has a
Happy New Year!

Funnies of the Week
The Godivalla family loves giving my companion funny/weird nicknames.
Some examples include "Smelder" and "Volde-moulton".
When we were at the Jest's home, they showed us the gift they were
giving to their grandpa: an umbrella that doubled as a lightsaber.
