Week 68: Aylesbury!

These past few days have just rushed by! We have lots to do here in
Aylesbury, and the members here are once again fantastic! We have some
awesome, involved leaders, so I'm really excited to see the work move
forward here! My new companion is really good too - his name is Elder
Moulton. He was trained by a missionary from my group (that arrived in
the mission field at the same time as me), and he's actually from
Provo! We looked at a map, and we live probably less than 10 minutes
away from each other! Crazy! He loves music, art, and animation and
hopes to attend BYU when he returns from his mission. The ward here is
very musical as well, so we've gotten involved in the ward, stake, and
priesthood choirs! Some of my favorite songs we're planning on singing
are "The Prayer" and "Consider the Lilies." Elder Moulton is also
going to perform a duet with another sister missionary serving in
Aylesbury ward for sacrament meeting and then for zone conference!
Another awesome thing, the sister missionary is Sister Coleman from my
BYU ward! It is such a small world!!

Since I arrived, we've been focusing on a few really good people. The
first is a 12-year old investigator, R. His nan was just baptized, and
now he's looking into the Church. We sometimes play basketball with
him in the mornings, and we had a lesson with him last week about the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. I've been really impressed by him - he shows
real dedication to doing the things that will bring him unto Christ,
and he showed some great understanding in our lesson with him. I don't
think I was as sharp as him when I was his age! We're inviting him to
be baptized soon now that his nan has come back home.

We also have an awesome family with a supermom that somehow manages to
work, home teach her children, and take them to their horse riding
lessons and motocross competitions. They don't have a whole lot of
extra time to meet with us, but they're so good and so friendly! The
children came to Young Men and Young Women's and loved it! They said
they'll definitely come again next week! Haha it just so happens that
the activity when they came was Book of Mormon war games. We're
excited to see them again this week!

Finally, we're also working with a returning member, R, who's recently
made some huge progress, even since I've been here. I've already seen
such a big difference in him from the first time I met him to when I
saw him at Church yesterday. I know that there is hope for each of us
to change because of Jesus Christ and His Atonement.

Thanks for reading! Hope everybody has a great, awesome, wonderful week!

Funnies of the Week

The flat was pretty messy when we arrived in Aylesbury, so I decided
to clean up my closet a little bit. You know what I found? A snail.
Guess what we did all morning in the flat today.

All 4 missionaries in the Aylesbury ward are from Utah.

Goodbye Elder Chu!再见

Hello Elder Moulton!
