Week 61: Crossroads

September 1, 2015

Transfers are this week - I'm staying in Norwich, but my companion, Elder Opiyo, is leaving to be a zone leader in St. Albans! My new companion will be Elder Chu from China! Super excited to begin working with him! He can teach me more Chinese!!

We've had a good, WET week here in Norwich. I think I have a better idea of what happened in Noah's time when the world was flooded. The sewage flooded back into the chapel's bathrooms, so that stinks a bunch. A lot of our Chinese investigators were studying for essays and exams, so we had lots of extra time this week. We scheduled lots of service during the week, so we were able to get to know some of the members better - Norwich is a HUGE ward, so getting to know all of the members is pretty hard. Because we use the bus to travel, we're trying to focus on building our relationship with families close to city center and the Church.

My favorite part of this week was meeting with one of our recent converts and teaching the Plan of Salvation to him again. The lesson was going a little rocky at the beginning, but when we were teaching him about the Celestial Kingdom, it's as if a little switch was flicked on. It just suddenly clicked to him that he could be with Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and his family forever. I could feel the Spirit so strongly as I testified to him that I knew he could be with his family forever. I am so grateful for Heavenly Father's perfect plan for us.

Love you all! Hope you have a great week!

Funnies of the Week

We were waiting at a bus stop on Friday when I noticed one little 5 year-old kid dressed from head to foot with Minion decorated clothing. His hat, shirt, shorts, shoes, socks, everything. He might've even had a Minion backpack.

"Dan" is a popular name here. There's a Chinese Dan, neighbor Dan, English Dan, YSA Dan, another YSA Daniel, and so on. Hard to keep track of them all!

We came to a crossroads in the middle of nowhere - we were required to get out and call someone to open the gate.  Funniest thing ever!

Me with Elder Opiyo the day before he leaves for St. Albans -
Love yah mah bruddah!
