Week 58: Mini 'Merica

August 10, 2015

This has been a stressful but good week! Lots of our investigators
have been busy with their classes recently, so we've been doing lots
of finding.

We visited the American base in Thetford today, and it was loads of
fun! We called it "Mini 'Murica". We had lunch at Taco Bell, and then
we went bowling. We didn't have time to buy any American stuff like
root beer, pop tarts, or peanut butter m&ms, so we're planning on
going again in a few weeks.

We had a big miracle this week - we found a family! They're not
married yet, but they want to get married. We met the father on
Tuesday, and he told us to come by Sunday. We tried contacting someone
else the day before, and it turned out to be a fake phone number and
address, so we weren't too sure if this was another fake address. We
finally found the home yesterday, and his wife came to the window and
told us they were all atheists, but we told her we wanted to talk to
them anyways. She told us to come around back, and when we got back
there we thought she just said it to get rid of us, because she wasn't
there. We were starting to think of leaving when she came out and
invited us in. It turns out she met with missionaries from a different
church a while back, and she had lots of questions for us. We pulled
out their table and taught them about the Plan of Salvation, and we'll
be seeing them again this week!

Spiritual highlight of the week - we helped home teach an older single
sister, and her home was filled with books and the Spirit. It was such
a breath of fresh air to visit her home and talk with her!

The sisters in our area had a baptism this week, and they asked me to
baptize their friend for them! They have all the pictures on their
camera, so I'll get them to you as soon as they send them to me.

Hope everyone's having an awesome summer!

Funnies of the Week

We ran into a potential investigator, and when my companion went to
shake her hand goodbye, she just went for a hug. When it was my turn,
I just stood there, raised my arm up high, and said, "high five!"
Later, when a recent convert heard about that, he told my companion
(with his Chinese accent), "Elder! You need to repent!"

While we were on the base today, our new (American) zone leader said,
"It smells like pizza! And freedom."
