Week 52: One Year Out! #makeeverylastdaycount

This is gonna be a crazy crazy week! Sooooo much going on!

I hit my year mark this week! Can't believe I've been out here for a
whole year!! I understand why my mission president's wife made the
phrase #makeeverylastdaycount - the days just fly by!!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY this week!!!! Hope y'all enjoy the fireworks
and BBQs, I'm gonna miss all that! We might get to go celebrate with
some other Americans down in Thetford this week, but we'll have to get
permission before we can go. Fingers crossed!

I'm also getting a new mission president this week! His name is
President Stevens - his wife is Jean A. Stevens, who was just released
from the Primary General Presidency this last General Conference.
Super excited to meet them on Wednesday!

This has also been an up and down week with our investigators. We were
a little disappointed when our member referral didn't come to church
again, but our Lithuanian family is still doing well. They're learning
quick and they understand a lot of what we teach them, but there's
always a bit of a language barrier (for example, we can't find a KJV
bible in her language, and they don't have scriptures in Lithuanian in
the gospel library app). They love coming to church, and they've told
us several times that they're feeling good when they read, pray, and
come to church. We're super excited for them, and we're hoping they
can be baptized before Elder Thornton goes home July 22!

We've had some miracles the past few weeks with the less active member
I was writing about a few weeks ago. Last week, she had loads of
rubbish going on, and she was sitting in her home thinking that maybe
she shouldn't go to church the next day. Just then, my companion
texted her to see if she'd be coming to church. She was a little
dumbfounded by that and told us about it later. She came to church
that week, and she's been coming pretty consistently now. It's amazing
to see what is possible when we follow the Spirit's promptings!

Hope everyone has a fantastic independence day this week! Thanks for reading!

Elder McOmber

Saying Goodbye to President and Sister Jordan!
