Week 50: Elder Holland!

We got to see Elder Holland in a mission-wide conference this week! Even the England London South Mission was there too! If you look on Facebook at "Hyde Park Chapel Visitors' Centre", they'll have lots of pictures on there. It was soooo good and I learned so much!!!! Wish we could have apostles come more often!

This has been an AMAZING week in Dereham! We had a huge miracle this week when we found a family on our way back to the flat for lunch, and they came to Church this week and had a BLAST! When ward members asked if they'd come next week, they all answered YES!!! I love being a missionary!

We had another miracle happen this week when a referral that lives in the middle of nowhere (2+ hours via bus for us) drove to the Church for a chapel tour! It turns out we scheduled the chapel tour right in the middle of when the carpet was being cleaned, but we were still able to show her around the Church and help her have a great experience! It turns out she became curious after watching the Meet the Mormons documentary (the bad one, not the good film from Utah), so she referred herself! We had a great How to Begin Teaching with her, and she didn't even hesitate to accept a baptismal date! MIRACLE!

A big reason this week went differently is because of the changes we made in our last companionship inventory. My companion discussed with me that I needed to stop stressing, have more faith, and be more optimistic about the work. We set some good goals and made some good plans, and then followed them. We also made a vision of what we want our area to become, and as we've been accountable to our goals, we've seen a big change in the work and ourselves. I'm so grateful for the help that Heavenly Father has given me to make this a great week, and I'm grateful for an inspired mission president. Every week, President Jordan sends us a letter of what he thinks we need, and every week it's about something I'm struggling with. I know Heavenly Father loves us, knows us and our struggles, and does everything He can to help us.

Thanks everyone for reading! Hope you have a great week!

Funnies of the Week:

Elder Holland, in his own words, owes my companion half a cookie for giving Elder Holland a good answer to his question.

Our barber was really nice and gave us some rootbeer he had in his fridge!
My companion likes to make fresh pasta.

Saw this on the side of a truck!

My companion's family sent him this chocolate bar from Australia - he made me try a square - not my favorite!

We found some stinging nettle as tall as me!

Gotta love my companion - Elder Thornton!
