Week 48: I miss rootbeer!

June 1, 2015

My companion's name is Elder Thornton.  "Elder For-nun" - that's how some people with a stronger Norfolk accent pronounce my companion's name - they pronounce "th" like "f" and they drop the "t", kinda like what Utahns do with "mountain". Haha I don't know if I'll ever be able to imitate some of these English accents I'm hearing, sorry!

We've had a good week this week! My favorite miracle from this week was when we were visiting a recent convert, and she'd forgotten that we were coming over, so she'd invited her friend over at the same time. Her friend had lots of questions, and we had a good conversation with her, and she might be interested in learning more!

We're also seeing miracles happen with a less-active member in our ward. She's gone through loads of struggles, and it builds my testimony to see how the gospel truly does bring peace and happiness to her life. I know that God wants us to be happy, which is why He's given us the gospel. I know that He lives and loves us, and I know he'll help us and comfort us when we need it.

Hope everyone's had a great, awesome, wonderful week!

Funnies of the Week:

They had a rodeo bull at the Stake BBQ last week, so I tried it out. Personal record: 3 seconds.

Some awesome members from my first area sent me a letter!

A member in my ward has some beautiful flowers in front of her home.  After I complimented her she found out what they were called so I could send it to my Dad.  Hope he likes it!

Best tie clip ever!

My companion's food was too hot!

Haven't had one of these for almost a year now!  They don't have rootbeer over here.  Some of the Sister missionaries who serve near the American air base brought some to Zone Conference!

This is the train that runs through our town.
Today we crossed the tracks right as it came by!
