Good morning America!
So, this has been an interesting week. We weren't able to get a hold of very many people this week, so we had a grand total of 3 lessons throughout the week, two of which were with less-active members. Almost nobody answered their phones, responded to texts, or checked who was knocking on their door. The funny part is that in the one appointment we actually did have an investigator, he told us he's moving to Cambridge in a month.
Because we had a lot of free time with no appointments, we did a lot of finding this week. We've been trying something called Destination Point Finding, where we come up with a few destinations to walk towards and then talk to people along the way. It's been a lot more effective than what we've been doing before, and we've been doing it for most of the week. We got a few potential investigators from doing that, but they never responded to any calls or texts we gave them after meeting them. We've also tried giving Chapel tours, but nobody was interested enough to come inside. We're brainstorming some finding ideas with our Ward Mission Leader and our Bishop, so we'll see what we come up with in the next few weeks.
Despite this being a slow week, we still had some fun. My companion was the manager for an Italian restaurant back in Utah, so he can cook REALLY good food - he made some of the best lasagna I've ever had this week. I also love the object lessons we do for all the young families in our ward - it's funny to see how the kids often find out the puzzles before the parents do.
Well, I should probably go now. Thanks for all your love, letters, and prayers this week! Hope you all have a good time this week back in the states!
