Week 66: General Conference

Hope everybody had a great time at General Conference! It was such a great end to such a great week! General Conference is a little different here in England compared to Utah. Probably the biggest difference is the 7-hour time difference. Our schedule for General Conference is: Saturday Afternoon, 5-7pm on Saturday; Priesthood Session, 10am-12pm Sunday; Saturday Afternoon, 1-3pm on Sunday; Sunday Morning, 5-7pm on Sunday; and then we have to watch the Sunday Afternoon Session on our own time. So crazy!! I haven't seen the Sunday Afternoon Session yet, so no spoilers por favor!

We saw so many miracles happen this week too! One of my favorite miracles this week happened right before an appointment we had with a family in our ward. We were standing outside making some calls when two people walked down the stairs next to us. We looked up and realized that one of them was the mother of a family that we'd had a good conversation with a week before, so we got up and started talking with her again. We told her that we were going to listen to God's Prophet speak to us the next day for General Conference, and she said she'd come with her daughter! Then the man who'd been walking with her, a friendly neighbor, perked up and asked if he could come to General Conference as well! They didn't end up coming, probably because of the woman's sick husband, but we're excited to follow up with them and teach them more about God's Prophets and Apostles!

We found a new family! The daughters were pretty funny too - I didn't even have to ask for contact info, they just shouted it out to me.

Miracles from General Conference included finding answers to questions I had almost forgotten that I had! I loved the talk about "What lack I yet?" and customized guidance from the Holy Ghost - I was so excited to go home and pray about that so I could find what I could do better! Also, during another talk, I realized I hadn't brought very many questions to General Conference, so I thought a little about what I wanted to know about. A question came to mind, and just as I was writing that question down, the apostle who was speaking answered it! I LOVE GENERAL CONFERENCE!!!

Then, during the Priesthood Session, I heard them say that the Orem Canyon View Stake, my home stake, was singing! So paid close attention to the men in the choir, and I'm pretty sure I recognized a few of them! So cool to see people I know in General Conference!

Funnies of the Week

We had General Conference set up in Mandarin for our Chinese friends, and it was working perfectly for the first few sessions, but none of our friends were able to come to those sessions. When our friends were finally able to come Sunday evening, THAT was when the computer decided to stop playing General Conference at all. Thankfully, Sister Blackham let us borrow her iPad so we could play it for them.

Does anybody have any ideas of how to get ink marks out of white shirts? Because I keep forgetting to click my pen before I put it back into my shirt pocket.
