Week 38: 6 Companions in 7 Transfers!

We just had moves calls yesterday - I'm staying! My companion, Elder Hart, is moving to Gravesend! My new companion's name is Elder Famuliner (I think I got the spelling right), and I think he's from somewhere in the central part of the US. I actually knew him from my first zone, so this will be fun!

I think I'm starting to understand more of why some apostles have called this the gospel of inconvenience. Almost all of our miracles happen when we have little to no time. Just yesterday, we went up to a town called Holt and spent the day there contacting less-active members and finding new investigators. We found a few good people throughout the day, but it wasn't until right before we had to run to catch our bus that we found someone solid. We knocked on the door, and the man who opened it was in sweats and a Jack Daniels shirt. We began talking with him about how the gospel can bless him and his family, and he invited us to come back when we're back in town next week! He even told us that his family would really be interested, so he's trying to get them to meet with us as well! AHH!!! FAMILY!!!! MIRACLE!!!!!

There's a really good talk my mission president asked everyone to read this transfer - it's called "Living with Purpose - the Importance of Real Intent" by Elder Ridd. It's really helped me focus and strive to have real intent with serving a mission, and I can feel the Spirit more strongly with the small and simple things I do every day.

We had a miracle with one of our investigators in Watton, named H. We finally had a lesson with him - he's hard to get in contact with since he doesn't really use a phone, and we're only in Watton once a week because of travel difficulties - and he's now on date for April 26th! He's a really quiet man, but we still had a really good lesson with him and we feel he really opened up to us! I love being a missionary!

In addition to that, we had lots of less-active members come to Church this week! Some of them haven't come for a veeery long time, so it's amazing to see them coming back again! A lot of it had to do with the members of the ward going to visit them and invite them back again - members are soooooooo important to missionary work! There are so many people who want to come back but just can't do it on their own, and we're the ones who can help them return.

Thanks for all your letters, love, and support! Hope everything's going well back in Utah!

Funnies of the Week:

One of the members in this ward has a Trooper, the same as Dad's!

That moment when you're in the car with members and you hear them say, "Ooooh! Can't run that red with the missionaries!"

A visiting High Councillor included both Harry Potter and Doctor Who in his talk to the ward. Yup, we're in England.

Elder McOmber

We went to visit Norwich Castle - so amazing!
Below are pictures of armor and royal treasures.

The 11th Commandment - so many people often forget!  haha

Chicken Korma!

The wonderful Gale family from my home ward sent me this Book of Mormon at Christmastime.  I just wanted to take a picture with it in a tiny little town in the middle of nowhere that we visited.

My New English Suit - love it!
