Week 42: iPads!

We just had a mission conference call on Saturday, and our mission president told us that we were going to get iPads! We're going to have a big mission conference in the next few weeks, and some Area Seventies will be coming to teach us more about them. We should be getting them in early May. Super excited!!

We haven't had the busiest week, but I definitely feel like I've learned and grown this week. My district leader had some great advice of what I could do to become a better missionary, and I'm doing everything I can so I can become the best person and missionary that I can be. Part of what he advised me had to do with a great talk that our mission president has given us to read several times is "A Consecrated Missionary" by Elder Callister. It talks a lot about laying aside things that keep us from progressing so that we can learn, grow, and improve.

Even though it wasn't the busiest week, we still had some great experiences - one of my favorites was finding our new investigator, S. We had some extra time in a town called Watton, so we decided to tract a road that looked like it had some family homes. When we knocked on S's door, we introduced who we were and what we were doing, and at first S told us that he was not interested at all. When we asked him if he knew anyone that would be interested, he thought for a few seconds and invited us into his home so we could look out his back window and see which house he wanted us to stop by. When we excitedly told him that we'd go and talk to them, he told us, "Actually, I do have a few questions I'd like to ask you. When you've done your rounds, would you come back and talk?" We of course said yes, and after contacting his referral and knocking on some of his neighbors' doors, we came back and started teaching him on his back porch. We had a great lesson with him about prayer and how we could find real, lasting happiness through Heavenly Father, and he committed to pray every day until our next appointment! Then he committed to come to Church on Sunday! MIRACLE! He wasn't able to come Sunday because he wasn't feeling well, but we're really excited to see him again this week!

Hope everyone enjoyed the snow this week! Can't wait to hear from all of you again!

Funnies of the Week:

We were asked to come in again this week to help with a Primary class, and the lesson was on John the Baptist. Somewhere in the lesson, one of the kids shouted out, "Wasn't he beheaded?" and then all the kids could talk about from that point forward was about different weird ways people could die.
